Program Instructors:
ANDREA BURK
Andrea, a native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada travelled the world for ten-years as a high-performance athlete. No stranger to education, group travel, coach busses, hotels and learning about the experiences of others in our global community she appreciates that no travel experience is the same for any two groups. After working as a backcountry guide for 4 years and completing a Master of Arts in Leadership Andrea learned quickly that to know about something is not the same as coming to know it through experience; which is why she is proud to help deliver exceptional outdoor education experiences that enhance connections with people, places and things, and transform our world around us.
SYDNEY DAVIS
Sydney grew up in Washington and has spent the past decade living in a handful of states across the US, in New Zealand, and most recently, in Findland. She has been teaching outdoor environmental education and guiding for the majority of that time, which has provided her with the amazing opportunity to connect to a multitude of ecosystems. Driven to help others build relationships with the natural world, Sydney relishes the chance to take people on their first night hike under a starry sky.
MARLEE GORDON
Marlee spent seven years working at an overnight summer camp running programming for participants of all ages, but mainly middle school students. She engages students through team work and exploration of the outdoor world. Each summer, Marlee learns new songs, riddles, and games that she teaches students. Growing up in Georgia, she spent a lot of time hiking and camping in the Southeast and has loved bringing her expertise to the West coast. Marlee finished her BS in Human Development and Family Sciences in 2020 and earned her MS in Higher Education Administration in 2023 and has since joined Academic Expeditions as part of their full-time staff.
